The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has given reasons why some students who sat for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in the Jamb Center, Ibadan, have not seen their results up till now.
Why Result was withheld
According to the source, some students may not be able to see their results for the following reasons:
- Some accredited centers were discovered to be involved in examination malpractice
- There may have been irregularities in the registration process of the student; such as contradicting data.
- Either the student missed his or her schedule or arrived at the exam center really late.
There is hope for ‘No result yet’
JAMB had earlier announced that the results of anyone who participated in any form of examination malpractice during the JAMB exercise will not be released. Hence, defaulters cannot expect to see their results. However, for those who did not engage in any malpractice but are still seeing ‘No Result Yet’ when they check; it may be because the board decided to withhold their results for further scrutiny to ascertain that they truly did not engage in examination malpractice or otherwise.
Keep checking for result update
Such individuals are advised to keep on checking for their results on JAMB’s website, as the examination board will upload them as soon as the scrutiny test comes out negative for exam malpractice. JAMB is empowered by Decree No. 2 of 1978 (amended by Decree No. 33 of 1989), to conduct the matriculation examination for entry into all universities, polytechnics and colleges of education .
